Danielle and Myth spent the following three days travelling in together across the region; there was no need for Myth to continue his gym battle challenge, as he had already coaxed himself into believing that he was the strongest trainer there was. Danielle explained how she had come to inherit the Dining, Dojo, Ditto from its former owner. Apparently, to be the keeper of the Dojo was a time-honoured tradition. They way it works is simple, sir. To beat the keeper, is to become the keeper. Danielle outlined nonchalantly, taking much more interest in the vibrant sunshine and clear, turquoise sky that absolutely engulfed the pair.
So, just how long were you there Danielle? Myth had gained a fondness, yet whether it was for the girl herself, or her total loyalty, none could say.
I had won ninety-nine straight battles sir; you were to be my hundredth victory. With emphasis on the word you, Danielle laughed, and skipped ahead a little to cheer at a passing Sunflora.
I see, and all those Pokemon? Myth was trying to dig deeper into the girls background, her past. It wasnt exactly a nervous tick, rather much more akin to arming oneself before a battle. Sometimes information is the best weapon. Information, or blackmail.
Each Dojo keeper is required to submit one Pokemon to the collection. That is the way of it. With this line, the blush fell from her cheeks, and Danielles shoulders visibly drooped. Myth had touched a raw nerve, and although Danielle was doing her best not to show it, he could tell that this was something not to be trifled with. I see. Myth replied, and with the line, he took two Pokeballs from his belt and placed them gently into the sack. What? Whatre you doing sir? Danielle was obviously confused, yet Myth would give no answer. He had in fact given his Roselia and Drifloon to the collection, and to Danielle. Perhaps the most human, the kindest gesture he had ever made.
So, which Pokemon is yours, then? Myths voice picked up noticeably in an odd, out of character kind of way. His ploy had struck home however, and Danielle was beaming again.
Would you like to see for yourself, sir? Myth nodded, and with that, Danielle reached around her neck and unclasped her necklace. Its a magnet, you see. Before I gave up my Pokemon, I managed to attach a magnetic plate to the bottom of its Pokeball, so I could find it whenever I wanted to. With this, Danielle blushed. Cheating, I know sir. But a girls gotta do, what shes gotta do. Myth noted that the girl had become relaxed in his presence, since travelling with him.
Very well then, Danielle. Let us see this Pokemon of yours. Myth was surprised that he almost felt excited.
Yes, sir! Danielle dove into the sack of Pokeballs with her magnetic necklace and soon retrieved the Pokeball she was looking for. Alright, lets get going, Keckleon! The Pokeball opened, and when the dazzling bright light dimmed, a multi-coloured, lizard-like creature, about half the height of a human stood, eyes constantly flicking from spot to spot, never really focussing anywhere.
Im both intruiged and confused. Youre a girl who runs a Dojo, who has a pet lizard? With this, Danielle laughed.
Sir, you are too quick to judge! Keckleon knows all kinds of tricks, some of which I bet even you couldnt handle, if I may be so bold. Danielle tried to hide her grin, but it appeared that Myths presence was pleasantly infectious to her.
Really? Well, then. Perhaps you see if you can put your mettle where your mouth is, young one? Myth regained his cool, calculated composure efficiently. Whilst appearing a mere game to Danielle, this battle would serve as her final test; if she succeeded, Myth would allow to into his grand design. If not, however, there would be no need for her.
